netamir

neta

i do not know where to start to introduce Netamir's work. She is a fiber artist from Israel working with lot's of techniques and materials.

she makes her dolls from socks and other recycled fabrics.

she creates 3d worlds and objects with textiles i so fell in love with the geraniums

here are some of her words about what she does....

My work combines the disciplines of traditional textile crafts with the visual arts. After graduating from fashion design studies and following several years of work in commercial companies I decided, to devote myself to a more creative and artistic work-path. At first I created crochet and cloth dolls. The creation of dolls then extended itself to installations where these dolls were part of a space that I formed. My installations are a grouping of the dolls, textile objects as well as photography. My interest has extended beyond the creative aspects of handicraft to an intricate language and concentration on cultural and social background of the figure and how these manifest themselves visually in a 3D object. As time goes by my occupation with dolls has spread to different directions. People who saw my dolls “envied” the unique style I fashioned for my characters and requested I create these in full scale for them. This is how I started my accessory collection. This growing involvement with enlarging objects for human has brought me to a new creative mode, where I form 3D objects that resemble every-day items, and take on a new role in my installation.

here are some links on her e-shop, flickr, blog and some of her workshop images
i'd love to participate in one of them:) maybe one day...

Neta thank you for sharing your art with us and for the inspiration
i look at your work with great admiration

Kat

i came across this amazing artist on flickr when i was making a menu for a cafe, i was searching for some art images to include in the menu. Kat was friendly from the beginning and accepted my proposal to include her work. since then i have been following her work and i have to say that each time i am amazed of the way she sees things and expresses them on paper. Her drawings are mostly linear and minimal but so descriptive, the thing i really love about her work is the way her artwork changes for me by the size you see it...

...for example in the following drawing i see a women's head when i see i in a small size, but if i click on it to see it closer i see a fish and in the fish many other images.
that is unique!

Kat is not a word person if you search her profile you cannot find much info about her.
''I am interested in making visual art that explores issues of language,
memory, space, mapping, and any combination of these things. ''
But her work is all about words and images of earth, nature , urban landscapes. she also has a side where she associates with words see here ::::::

i recently found out that K opened an etsy shop!!

Kat thank you so much for sharing your work on the net and giving us the opportunity to see and feel through it! also thanks for the supportive comments now and then and for being my e-friend xo!
more info will follow ones i get in the question answer part of the universe...

M

Marilyn, i love all of her artwork and she really is an amazing artist and a loving person to speak too!
looking at her work gives me a fairytale feeling and all of her work has elegance and freshness. Her work is really in touch with earth and human nature.
her nick name is CowgirlsWithGlasses
do not know why yet! i guess this will be one of my next questions to her.
she really is not much of a word person could no find much talking of her but lot's of making!
A few words of her words in her blog intro are:

''I've picked up a lot of needlecraft skills over the years,
but right now it's all about making art,
knitting, a little sewing, and the occasional goodie from the kitchen.''

hhhmm! i can see what she means!

Marilyn really have lived in a fairy tale, when i ask her where she lives she says:

''I'm from a rural area in western Pennsylvania, U.S., where I spent my
childhood playing in a magical forest.
i live a few miles from where i grew up, in a small, cozy house, with the love of my life....and two sweet cats.''

....well that forest must have been really magical....

...thank you .....
.....more will follow...
